In preparation for your student to have the most successful remainder of the semester while in remote learning mode I have opened up all assignments with the regularly scheduled deadlines to help keep them on track weekly. Deadlines are posted underneath the assignment title within the Canvas Module Dashboard. I have outlined them below for your reference. Students are more than welcome to work ahead.

Business Plan (FINAL EXAM, 400 points, 20% of grade): I have cancelled the presentation portion of the final exam (power point slide show of business plan no longer needed) due to not knowing if we will be back in the classroom in time based on the LSSC schedule. The written business plan itself is DUE Friday, April 17 by 2:35pm. Your student must email me their final word document, (2) Excel spreadsheets, and marketing materials by the deadline (day/time) outlined. I will print out (1) hard-copy for grading.
*Late emails/submissions will not be considered. Students will receive a zero (0) for their final exam if not turned in (via email) prior to the deadline.
**Please note: Many students worked diligently during class time/home and completed their business plan prior to Spring break. For those students who turned it in, I have read and given suggestions/revisions and ideas to improve their business plan (final exam grade). This business plan feedback was offered to all students however, not all took advantage of it.
Chapter 13: Bell ringers, Homework (True/False and Multiple Choice) DUE: Wed 04/22 by 11:59pm, Test (open-notes, textbook/e-book) DUE: Thurs 04/23 by 11:59pm

Welcome to Accounting Applications & Dual-Enrollment Personal Finance / Introduction to Entrepreneurship
Who Am I?
I am originally from Toronto, Canada and have lived and worked all over the world (Canada, USA, Caribbean, England). My background includes eight years in the business world including but not limited to: marketing, events, and finance. I have a Master's in Business Administration from Hult International Business School (England, UK) and most recently joined the teaching world in 2017. This is my third year teaching at The Villages High School. I love to travel, run, and play soccer. I also coach the Girls Junior Varsity Soccer team here at the high school.
Course Requirements:
1. A working jump drive/USB -- each student must have their own, sharing is not allowed.
2. Pencil/Pen and lined paper (a small 50-80 page notebook should be sufficient for note-taking).
3. A working calculator.
4. A good attitude.
Professional Behavior Points!
In my classroom students will have the opportunity to earn a Professional Behavior (PB) grade. Your student will be able to earn (5) mastery points per school day. PB points will be entered into the gradebook at the end of each week. Students that are absent from school/class may earn these points by sending me an email to let me know they will not be present and their potential plans about their return date and how to make up any missed lectures/readings/assignments. Just like in the real-world workplace, we are required to withhold a specific demeanor and as this course is a part of the career education, students will be expected to practice their professional approach.
The grade is simple and consists of:
1. Be punctual: Student is in assigned seat, logged into his/her computer, and working on bell ringer before the bell rings.
2. Possess a good attitude: Student is behaving professionally; ex. raising hand to speak, does not interupt the speaker, uses manners and appropriate language/tone (no profanity).
3. Be Respectful: Student demonstrates respect to the teacher, his/her peers, and classroom property (chairs, tables, computers, teacher's desk, etc.) This includes no writing/gum/stickers on the chairs, desks, computers, walls, etc.
4. Time Management: Student uses class time efficiently and effectively, stays on track with task assigned (without reminder).
5. Rules & Procedures: Student follows the classroom rules accordingly; signs-out/in/takes a pass to leave the classroom, keeps workspace tidy, logs out of computer, desk chair pushed in, in school uniform/lanyard, etc.
Accounting Applications Extra Credit Opportunity: Current Event
Your student will be required to pick an article that relates to Accounting/Budgets/Sales in any industry that is of interest to them. Please use credible sources; local, national, international (online, newspapers, business journals/magazines Ex: Forbes, Entrepreneur, Business Insider).
1. Select a current event (within the past year) that relates to Accounting/Entrepreneurship in some way. Make it fun for yourself and search for an article that involves one of your favorite brands/companies/industries (sports, cosmetics, government, etc.). Use MLA standards; 12-pt font, Times New Roman, 1" margins, double-spaced, etc.
2. Ensure you use a credible source and reference the article accordingly (Works Cited Page).
3. Please create an outline to show your writing-planning process, submit the outline along with your summary and Works Cited Page.

5. Write (250 words) on how it relates to Accounting or Entrepreneurship what your learned. *Remember: Quality over quantity.
